Pauley is an approximately 5 year old, 56 pound mixed breed boy who is a volunteer favorite due to his charming personality. He loves people!

Pauley is sweet and affectionate. He loves chew toys and playing tug of war with a rope. The best part of his day is romping in the play yard with one of his girlfriends. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and most of all...ready to go home! Pauley is good with most, but not all, dogs - small dogs are not his thing.

Pauley is a wonderful dog. He is an active guy, so will thrive in an active household preferably with a fenced yard and time to play in it. Beyond that, he really just needs someone to give him time, love, and a chance. He will be the most loyal boy to his people... we just have to find them!

DeeDee is an estimated 4 year old, 58 pound probable Australian Kelpie mix and she's the best. Look at that smile!

DeeDee is sweet and easy on a leash, and she seems to be cat friendly. She was found near a local winery, and she was clearly someone's pet. As such, she is struggling in the chaotic shelter environment. Thankfully one of our wonderful fosters is taking her in for a bit so she can decompress.

If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be your ride-or-die, 5 year old, 64 pound Hooch is your guy. He’s a total sweetheart who lives for car rides, belly rubs, and being wherever you are. He’s happiest when he can follow you around the house, curl up nearby, and remind you that you’re his whole world.

Hooch is super friendly—he loves people and gets along great with other dogs. No cats for Hooch, though. He’s got a soft spot for tennis balls and chew toys (though fair warning: those don’t last long in his paws).

Now, he’s not a fan of being left alone or kenneled—it really stresses him out. That’s why he’s hoping for a home where someone’s around most of the time. If you work from home or are retired, he’d love to be your full-time Velcro dog.

He’s house-trained once he learns your routine, and he already knows sit, stay, lay down, and shake. Give him a few days to decompress and learn the ropes, and you’ll have a loyal, easygoing companion.

Gentle Yoshi is a sweet approximately 2 year old, 53 pound mixed breed house trained male.

Yoshi truly comes alive in the company of other dogs. Yoshi loves play group! He is getting the hang of leash walking, and is always up for a cuddle with staff and volunteers. While Yoshi might look like a tough guy with his beefy build, he's the sweetest boy and he makes the cutest grunts when he kicks his legs. We love him!

Yoshi is okay with cats, vaccinated, neutered and his bags are packed! Yoshi will be happiest in a calm home without children. He finds them a little intimidating!

Because of his initially shy nature, a patient adopter willing to allow him to settle at his own pace will be ideal. Once Yoshi is comfortable, he is a total lovebug who enjoys belly rubs and seeks affection. He's a wonderful boy!

Where is Joe’s hero? Come on, y’all!

Joe is a neutered, vaccinated 39 pound, approximately 2 year old very lovable Treeing Walker Coonhound/Mountain Cur/Rat Terrier mix!

Joe has some quirks and he needs an owner who will take the time to understand him and respect his body language, just like the loyal group of volunteers who absolutely adore this good boy. He has his own fan club who love playing with him and taking him on long walks in the woods so he can sniff to his heart’s content!

Joe is joyful, with soulful brown eyes which he will fix on you while he wags his tail. He cuddles, he’s playful, and loves to go on walks. He’s happy to lay in the sun and chew on his stuffies after splashing around in the kiddie pool. 

Please, someone come get this guy. We think, if he were in a quieter place, he wouldn’t be so amped up and would be a fine companion. He will thrive in a home with a fenced yard. He's a hound after all! No cats for Joe, though.

Fitz is an estimated 4.5 year old, 74 mixed breed male who is vaccinated, neutered, and his bags are packed.

Fitz spreads sunshine with his happy demeanor and sweet smile. He gently requests hugs and is a real love whose signature move is flopping down on his back and wiggling around. Fitz is gentle when meetings kids, and is a pretty chill dude who is house trained, crate trained, and ready to settle in at his forever home.

Fitz recently finished HW treatment, and is back at the shelter, ready to go home!

This is what his foster mom learned about what he likes:
1) He loves to be outside, not necessary to play but to listen and observe. Sniffing when on his walk is super important, more than the distance.
2) He loves collagen sticks for chewing.
3) He’s grown to look for his crate lick mat. I use plain Greek nonfat yogurt and plain peanut butter. He devours it.
4) He loves people. He would be content just sitting near me getting pets, brushed and belly rubs.

Darling Dollie!

Darling Dollie is an approximately 12 month old, 32 pound mixed breed sweetheart.

Our Dollie is a little shy at times. She just needs someone to be willing to sit with her so she can relax, and then she'll happily be your pal and take all of the loving you want to give her!

Dollie loves her time in the play yard, and has done well with pretty much every dog she meets - big or small. She is vaccinated and spayed and ready to start her happily ever after.

Mama T! Tashina came into the shelter from a neglect situation with four puppies in tow. Thankfully, one of our amazing fosters opened their home to this sweet mama and she and her puppies are now in great shape and ready for adoption!

WHY IS VINNY STILL HERE?!

Vinny is one of those dogs that inspires love at first sight! To be honest, we can't understand why he's still at the shelter. This handsome and friendly guy is estimated to be just over 1 year old, and is fully grown at 48 pounds. We love him!

He is one of our play group rock stars who gets along with pretty much every dog, and he loves running around with his buddies. Vinny appears to be good with cats and really is a great dog.

He recently spent a weekend with a volunteer, who says "I have had fun fostering Vinny this weekend. He has had very good house manners and played well with my dog. Vinny would do well in a household with an active owner or with another dog. He is eager to please. At the end of the day, he loves to get up on the couch and cuddle".

Say hello to Kora, an estimated 5 year old, 73 pound lovable Velcro dog who’s never met a stranger! Kora is the ultimate snugler — she’s happiest curled up next to her humans, soaking up all the love she can get.

Kora is dog-friendly and enjoys having canine pals to hang out with, but she’s a firm no when it comes to cats or kittens. She has a playful spirit and absolutely LOVES her toys — especially the squeaky ones! She's house trained and uses a doggie door like a pro. Kora is also working hard on her manners, especially her tendency to counter surf (what can she say, she’s curious!).

After being a loving mama to six adorable puppies, Kora is ready for some me time in her forever home. She’s a bit of an explorer, so she’ll do best in a home with a higher fence to keep her safe.

Anubis is an energetic boy who wants action! He would do well in a household where he was able to run around safely, and he especially loves playing fetch. He's smart and athletic.

Brady is pure love! Truly, this wonderful little pup loves people and can't get enough cuddles and kisses. At 3 years old and currently 30 pounds, he's a great medium size. And come on, what’s cuter - his ears or his eyes?!

Sweet Brady has started heartworm treatment in a foster home, and he is soaking up all of the cuddles he can get! He could finish his HW treatment in an adopter's home.

His foster reports he is house trained, crate trained, and loves playing tug of war. His leash skills are improving, and he's an all around cutie patootie.

He is a 3 year old, approximately 80 pound muscular guy who is the newest member of the GCAS Big is Beautiful Club.

Bubba is a sweetheart of a dog who likes people and enjoys his walks with our volunteers. Bubba is making friends in the play yard, too.

Meet Poppy!

Poppy is a precious six-week-old sweetheart weighing just 8 pounds — the tiniest (and arguably cutest!) of her litter. As the runt, she may start off a little hesitant when meeting someone new, but give her a few minutes and you’ll see her gentle, playful personality shine through. Once she feels safe, her fun-loving side really comes out.

This smart little lady is already impressing us — she’s doing better than all of her siblings with puppy pad training! Poppy is eager to learn and off to a wonderful start with her early manners.

She has received her first round of vaccinations and will be ready to go to her forever home around February 22.
